    Provide high-level advice on strategies, policies and programs relating to Australian First Nations success at Charles Darwin University.

    About the Position
    As the Senior Analyst First Nations Policies and Programs, you will provide high-level CDU leadership aligned with the Charles Darwin University's (CDU) Strategic Plan , particularly its commitment to First Nations peoples. This role supports the Deputy Vice-Chancellor First Nations Leadership & Engagement (DVCFNL&E) in providing a whole-of-University direction to attaining our goal of being ?Australia?s most connected university by being courageous and making a difference in the Northern Territory, Australia and beyond?. The First Nations Leadership Core Plan identifies specific priorities under the CDU Strategic Plan with a focus on First Nations student engagement and success.
    Working closely with staff from the DVCFNL&E, CDU's senior leaders, faculties and operational staff and stakeholders, the Senior Analyst will develop, implement, and measure strategies to further progress our First Nations teaching, learning, research and engagement goals and key performance indicators. The Senior Analyst will lead and participate in relevant strategic projects and assist in promoting the work of the Portfolio across CDU.
    The role requires high level strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, a strong commitment and capacity to build and work within First Nations-led teams and an aptitude for collegiality, networking and communication. The Senior Analyst will also assist in promoting the FNL&E Portfolio and CDU across diverse stakeholders and broader academic networks, at local and national levels, including representing the DVCFNL&E as directed. This role has a strong focus on accessing, analysing and reporting on qualitative and quantitative data to inform DVCFNL&E priorities and Key Performance Indicators.

    About You
    To be successful, you will require:

    • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience in a relevant field, preferably First Nations tertiary education; First Nations Studies, Education or Public Policy.
    • A demonstrated deep knowledge and understanding of Australian First Nations societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting First Nations people in contemporary Australian society and specifically the Northern Territory and the diversity of circumstances of First Nations peoples.
    • Previous experience working at a senior level in a tertiary and/or public administration environment with expertise in program evaluation, interpreting and applying organisational policies and legislative principles, including preparing complex reports, compiling and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills and capacity to work collegially with internal and external stakeholders, administrative, academic and research-focused staff to achieve common objectives and to rise to a leadership role as required.
    • Demonstrated high-level written communication skills across a range of genres including experience in preparing grant applications, competitive submissions and research reports suitable for the Australian and Territory governments and other funding bodies nationally and internationally.
    • Excellent organisational skills, including attention to detail, the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and to work with minimal supervision.

    Remuneration
    Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 10. The base salary will be $126,376 per annum. The total remuneration package will be $147,859 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
