    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as Principal Marketing Strategy and Technical. Reporting to the Manager Marketing Strategy and Technical Iron Ore, this position will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of the commercial strategy, as well as providing technical support to BHP's iron ore customers across Japan, Korea and SEA.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Support the business by working with Commercial and Asset teams in the development and execution of Commercial and Technical initiatives to support the commercial strategy.
    • Develop customer engagement plans in collaboration with Commercial teams to support product utilization, introduction of new products and various technical and commercial initiatives.
    • Support customers in the use of BHP's products through regular technical engagements and customer collaborations.
    • Monitor industry developments and technology changes and assess the impact on BHPs product portfolio, markets and customers.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects, synthesizing technical information and insights into commercial opportunities to support productivity projects across the business.
    • Continually monitor networks and internal and external data sources to increase knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, key competitor and customer performance.

    About You

    • You will hold a Bachelor's degree and an extensive experience in a technical, commercial or analytical role within the iron and steel industry.
    • Possess a deep understanding of the iron and steel making process, with knowledge of iron ore mining processes desirable
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion and natural ability for communicating with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a high performing team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to simplify complex issues.
    • Capable of developing and managing project and stakeholder plans and schedules to manage the time, cost and resource allocation for more complex projects with multiple resources.
    • English language proficiency essential, native level Japanese highly desirable.
