    The day to day

    ALS Geochemistry is looking for a full-time Maintenance/Grounds Person to work at our Zillmere site Monday to Friday from 6am to 2.15pm. The salary for the role is $56,461 plus superannuation per year ($28.57/hour).

    This position would suit someone who is willing and able to turn their hand to any general maintenance tasks that can be found in a warehouse facility.

    On a day-to-day basis you will perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance duties, general facility site repairs, simple metal fabrication tasks & repairs. This is a varied role and will enable you to expand your skill base into the maintenance and/or repairs of all on-site equipment. Other duties will include mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, spraying, and site clean-up + bulk rubbish disposal.

    Working with our maintenance and management team, the successful applicant will be given on-the-job training in all aspects of routine maintenance of specific ALS equipment to ensure they fully understand the task while always complying with ALS HSE policy.

    A high level of communication will be required in this role as the successful candidate will need to be able to liaise directly with facility management promptly regarding equipment issues or downtime.

    The Essentials

    • Previous experience with power tools & equipment on a professional or personal level
    • Mechanical aptitude is beneficial
    • Welding & mild steel experience highly regarded
    • Excellent work ethic
    • Committed to a safety culture while maximising productivity
    • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team
    • Current driver's license (C class) manual and own transport to and from the workplace
    • The ability to handle a busy and diverse workload
    • Forklift licence (desirable not essential)
