    This role marks a shift towards a more service-oriented approach, emphasising strategic global alignment and day-to-day support for our defence and infrastructure business segments.

    We are seeking two (2) permanent, fulltime Senior Legal Counsels, skilled in providing pragmatic legal advice aligned with commercial considerations, contributing to our mission of being a trusted advisor to the business.

    It is preferred that the Senior Legal Counsel are based in either Melbourne, Canberra or Sydney.

    Responsibilities:
    The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
    Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial contracts and tender agreements.
    Conduct Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) due diligence and handle International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and export controls.
    Provide strategic legal advice on intellectual property, data protection, and general commercial matters.
    Collaborate with the legal team on operational matters and participate in key industry initiatives.
    As the ideal candidate, you will bring:Minimum 8 years' experience as a qualified solicitor, either in private practice or in-house
    Admitted to practice and holds a current practicing certificate
    Well-developed analytic and communication skills
    Commercial acumen within defence or infrastructure industry
    Strong leadership and management abilities
    Ability to balance risk in a commercial context and provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
    Eligible to hold and maintain an AGSVA security clearance
