Public Sector People are currently partnered with a Local council based North of Sydney who is looking for a Senior Urban Designer to join the team on a 12 month contract.

In this role you will be part of the Strategic and Place Business Unit, providing expert advice to the division and other services within Council and external consultants engaged in achieving high quality urban design outcomes, providing direct support to Council's related activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent Council in negotiating with stakeholders on strategic and urban design matters, including representing Council in Land and Environment Court and at Planning Determination panels.

Provide advise and expert opinion on Development applications and referrals in order support the planning team.
Drafting development controls within legislative and Council requirements and develop masterplans, concept designs, site plans and building envelopes.

Develop and be accountable for project plans, work specifications, contracts and performance management arrangements relevant to the projects and the Unit.

You will be a highly experienced Urban Designer with previous demonstrated experience providing design advice in the Local Government planning process, including advisory and determination panels, State Government, internal business unit and Local and Environment Court.
