    About the Team

    The Procurement and Corporate Services Branch support the Agency business areas by providing corporate, procurement and property services.

    The Procurement team is responsible for partnering with business areas to procure goods and services for the Agency. The team focuses on applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Agency's policy to ensure value for money outcomes

    About the Role

    The EL1 Procurement and Contracts (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the Procurement functions of the Agency.

    The position is an important team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the work area.

    The EL1 Procurement and Contracts (Labour Hire) will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the procurement and contract management functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.

    Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

    • Consulting and collaborating with internal stakeholders and business areas, providing a combined education and business intelligence function to identify upcoming issues that require action, further advice or forward planning.
    • Working collaboratively with Agency business areas as a procurement business partner, and managing a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.
    • Leading an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
    • Ensuring that Agency's procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Agency's Procurement Policy.
    • Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), the Agency's Procurement Framework, and Agency policies and procedures.
    • Managing regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement in order to benefit the business clients and improving procurement business partnership.
    • Ensuring that Agency's corporate contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money outcomes.

    Key skills required for role:

    • Demonstrated procurement experience and knowledge in federal or state government
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team. Desirable skills to have for the role
