    The Role
    The IT Workplace Support team provides face to face desktop support services to all users from the department and our client agencies across Australia. The team provides premier support services to Ministers, Senior Executives, Agency Heads and their support staff. We also provide ICT Stores, logistics, asset management and mobile telephony support services for the department. Please note that you will be required to work 100% from the office.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    The Assistant Director leads and supervises a team of technical staff providing second level desktop support services to the Department, Ministerial offices, and client agencies. The team is required to resolve incidents within agreed service levels and participate in project work and relocations.

    In addition to supervising a large team, the EL1 is required to:

    • Develop and review operational procedures.
    • Liaise effectively with both internal and external clients at all levels.
    • Provide reports and advice to managers.
    • Manage or participate in a range of it projects.
    • Manage and deliver on competing priorities within tight timeframes.
    • Guide staff in the resolution of complex technical problems.

    Eligibility

    Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department, you must be an Australian Citizen or, in limited circumstances, in the process of obtaining it.
