The Role

The purpose of this role is to monitor the operational and financial performance of Joint Ventures in which MRP participates together with Kestrel Coal Resources(KCR).

Key responsibilities of the role are not limited to:Represent Mitsui and its interests at the Joint Venture operating committee meetings.

Conduct adequate due diligence to meet the Obligations under Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.
Evaluate expenditure requests and capital projects.
Provide recommendations to the Management to maximise Mitsui's benefit in the Joint Venture
Establish constructive relationships with key personnel at Kestrel mine,
Prepare Business Plan/Latest estimate/Monthly forecast and present to Management for approval.
Analyse and report financial performance of each JVs that have impact on the Business Plan/Latest estimate.
Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis tracking the performance of KCR against Budget/ Latest estimate.
Ensure marketing activities are conducted in compliance with JV contracts.
Manage the commercial and legal process relating to lease extensions, new business, and justifications outside of LOM plans.
Monitor and develop new business, monitor and support industry M&A processes, valuations, and divestments.
Evaluate potential investment opportunities

The Person
You will enjoy working within a successful team of talented individuals and bring your own proven experience to the business and you have the following qualifications, experience and skills:Commercial experience in investments and joint ventures would be advantageous
Experience in the Australian coal mining industry
Analytical thinking
High level of communication skills
Understanding and accepting Japanese business requirements
