    Lizard Island Resort is actively seeking a dedicated, experienced and guest focused professional to join our Resort Activities team as a full-time MASTER 24 with MED II, Skipper. You'll be joining our friendly and professional team at our beautiful location located on the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef, just over an hour's flight North of Cairns, QLD. Set within crystal clear aquamarine waters, this stunning 5 star property has something for everyone.

    The Opportunity;

    As a MASTER 24 MED II Skipper you will be central to ensuring our quality guest experience and the very highest levels of service and safety on our resort vessels. Working within our Activities centre you will skipper and manage passenger dive and snorkelling trips, in and around the reef off of Lizard Island. You will also undertake general maintenance duties on our vessels to ensure they operate safely and effectively whilst maintaining 5 star service and presentation.

    About You:

    You will be a confident and engaging individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to connect and interact with guests in an captivating yet professional manner. Your organisational skills and attention to detail will be the key to success in this role as you take control and give directions to other crew members and guests to ensure a smooth and safe experience on all expeditions.

    Key Requirements:

    • MASTER 24 and MED II certificate (essential)
    • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in managing marine vessels and passengers.
    • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of shipboard safety with a detailed knowledge of Australian Marine legislation and best practice
    • Extensive experience and skill in marine engineering, particularly in remote locations
    • Queensland Workplace Health and Safety At Sea (Elements of Shipboard Safety).
    • VHF Licence / LROCP ticket (essential)
    • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD Recognised)
    • Provide Advanced Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy Certificate.
    • First Aid & CPR certificate will also be an essential requirement of this role.
