    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a highly skilled full time Software Development/Process Automation engineer with experience in accounting software, systems and processes, to join our Sydney team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both the Accounting and IT disciplines along with excellent communication skills. A suitable candidate will be able to provide relief support across all existing systems, reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer.

    Responsibilities of the role:

    • Research, design and development of end-to-end automations to improve existing processes.
    • Implement modern authentication methods for secure access to applications.
    • Develop and deploy automation systems using a variety of programming languages and frameworks.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions tailored to business needs.
    • Testing, maintaining, and documenting any implemented/augmented processes/solutions developed.
    • Adapt and self-train in new skills, languages and systems by researching online documentation, wikis and knowledge repositories.

    Your experience and attributes:

    The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. You will have at least 3 years experience working in software development with a focus on the accounting profession. You will have experience with automation tools and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Selenium and Openpyxl along witbh demonstrated proficiency in Python, Nodejs, HTML, CSS, and MSSQL.

    The successful candidate will haveKnowledge of APIs and web services and the ability to liaise with external developers on implementing solutions utilizing new APIs and technology. You will possess problem solving skills and exceptional communication skills and the ability to deal with stakeholders of a technical and non-technical nature and being able to translate concepts cross-discipline.

    Technical Skills:

    • Extensive knowledge of Python (pandas, openpyxl, selenium), VBA, NodeJS and other scripting languages.
    • Demonstratable experience utilizing Xero API, Graph API and Selenium WebDriver for real-time data collection and analysis.
    • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS
    • General IT support principals and fundamentals
