    Description

    The role

    A role exists for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated Mechanical Technician who has the ability and willingness to operate earth moving equipment between trades tasks.

    The role requires an innovative, proactive, and highly skilled professional with extensive experience in reliability analysis and developing predictive maintenance within a heavy industry quarrying and processing environment who has a willingness to work with the existing leadership team to continue to drive change and build a safety first culture that values continuous improvement and accountability.

    Responsibilities

    • Commitment to safety, quality and the environment
    • Carrying out mechanical repairs on a range of fixed and mobile plant with a particular emphasis on planned and predictive/preventive maintenance
    • Administrative tasks within the maintenance planning system
    • Focus on continuous improvement ideas

    What you will need to succeed

    • Trade qualified Mechanical boilermaker/fitter with a background in heavy industry or mining/quarrying preferred
    • Drivers license
    • Operational experience, if not can be trained
    • High risk licence including Forklift and Elevated Work Platform preferred
    • Confined space entry and work at heights trained preferred
    • Good computer literacy
    • A confident, self-motivated, energetic individual
    • A team player with a high degree of trade flexibility
    • Precision Machining Installation
    • Experience using CMMS, ERP solutions (SAP) a bonus
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Customer focus by collaboration
    • Drive to enhance the compliance to schedule by work order completion
    • Ability to work at times autonomously and without direct supervision
    • Rigging / Dogging ticket desirable
    • Supervisory experience of contract personnel desirable
