    Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring a basic level of knowledge of office routine and understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the students, staff and administrative staff. Works fairly independently, receiving minimum supervision and guidance.

  • Benefits--Medical/Dental/Vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) are provided for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year.

    Responsibilities

  • Assist ELD Director and Lead Secretary with on-site management of program, coordinating its daily operation for the purpose of maintaining efficiency and organization in fulfilling staff needs.
  • Assist in the operation of the ELD offices in support of schools and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors, and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate people according to their needs.
  • Maintain and administer student information system for ELD students including enrollment, registration, attendance, ensuring accuracy for school, district, and state reports.
  • Provide typing, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database skills for the program to maintain and coordinate various program assignments and documentation.
  • Order needed office supplies and coordinate printing, ordering, and delivery of screening test materials.
  • Provide backup payroll duties for the program.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional business courses preferred.
  • Minimum two years of recent secretarial or clerical work experience required, with School District experience preferred.
  • Type 40 words per minute accurately.
  • Basic level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, payroll software, financial software (i.e., Intouch), single point of entry software, and student information system (i.e., PowerSchool) experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated record-keeping skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clerical skills, including accurate filing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, arranging letter format, syntax, etc.
  • Demonstrated personal characteristics of flexibility, high-stress tolerance, reliability, punctuality, dependability, and an ability to maintain confidentiality and to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively and effectively with a diverse group of students, staff, volunteers, and the community in a confidential manner.
