We currently have an opportunity to join our Underwriting and Operations team as a Senior Underwriter.
This opportunity can be based in our North Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office in conjunction with our hybrid work from home options.
As an Underwriter, you will work with the wider underwriting team to ensure the protection and promotion of MLCL's reputation with key stakeholders including employees, customers, shareholders, the industry, government, regulators, and media.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assessing of all MLCL products in line with our underwriting philosophy, policies, procedures, and controls.
Assisting to maintain MLCL Insurance underwriting philosophies and principles
Assisting to build relationships with all external stakeholders such as reinsurers and advisers.
Working with the Underwriting and Administration Manager and other team members in the development and maintenance of team strategies for positive promotion of MLCL's insurance offerings
Working pro-actively with advisers and dealer groups to foster an environment for continued business
Keeping up to date with regulatory and legislation changes, ensuring these are translated into underwriting best practice and monitored for adherence.
About youYou will be an Underwriter with 5+ years of experience with proven successful customer focused underwriting service delivery.
You will have knowledge and experience of protection/life insurance markets in terms of insight, sales, products, pricing, reinsurance, claims and underwriting.
ALUCA CPLI qualified, you have a broad knowledge of the financial services industry, how our business operates and the legislative/regulatory framework.
Your balanced set of skills includes critical and analytical thinking, positive interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively across function areas to achieve business outcomes.
