    Fixed term position for 2 years with potential for extension

    The BetterStart Group is seeking a Lead – BEBOLD Data Integration Projects and Partnerships. The role is focused on technical and project coordination leadership to support the multiple programs of research, spanning partnerships with government and non-government agencies, foundations and academic collaborators, to enable the use of the Better Evidence Better Outcomes Linked Data (BEBOLD) platform.

    BetterStart Group is an interdisciplinary team trained in epidemiology, public heath, psychology, and social work. Our focus is on improving the wellbeing of children, young people, families and communities. Our expertise spans the first 1000 days, early childhood education and care, child maltreatment, justice systems, housing and homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, domestic, family and sexual violence, and social and economic inequalities. Our aim is to generate useful evidence to inform policy and practice that can improve health and wellbeing of children, young people, families, and communities.

    The role will be based in the BetterStart research group and work across multiple programs of research spanning partnerships with government and non-government agencies, foundations and academic collaborators.

    To be successful you will need:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in health, allied health, public health, social science or social research (or equivalent experience)
    • Proven ability to build and manage partnerships across sectors.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading complex data integration or data linkage projects.
    • Strong understanding of administrative data systems, policies, data sharing legislation and data governance frameworks.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and listen effectively
    • Background in public health, social sciences, data science, or a related field.
    • Experience working with sensitive data and ethical research practices.

    This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
