    This role holds a senior position within the Finance Business Partnering function at UNSW. The team is dedicated to delivering end-to-end finance services to our Faculties and Divisions and operates as a central and trusted source for financial guidance and services.

    The Opportunity As a Finance Business Partner you will oversee the financial activity of your Faculty, offering pragmatic and executable financial recommendations as well as sound regulatory advisement to your stakeholders, giving them the confidence to move forward with financial decisions.

    A practiced leader, you'll work closely with your Finance Manager to supervise a team of finance professionals dedicated to working with your Faculty to achieve their operational and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • financial planning
  • guidance and reviews on remediation
  • budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • expert data analysis and decision support
  • general advice across matters of compliance, regulation and process optimisation
  • Working as part of the broader Finance leadership team, you will provide senior level financial consultation and direction to enhance Finance's performance and reputation, including enterprise-wide projects within our remit.

    Our Finance Business Partners report directly to the Director, Finance Business Partnering and have a Finance Manager as a direct report, and manages a team of Analysts indirectly.

    Who you are You are dynamic CA/CPA/CIMA qualified leader, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills who is consistently displaying a willingness to lead and guide your team all whilst providing strategic financial advice in a complex organisation. The key to being successful in this role will be the strong relationships you build within your team and the stakeholders around you, balancing the needs of the business unit alongside the enterprise fiduciary responsibility.
