- Ensure capture of the functional requirements and recommendations in architecture design to meet program needs.
- Coordinate and ensure the design of Program's ICT Systems physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Guide delivery of Program's ICT Infrastructure including Build, Configuration & Integration to meet the program needs.
- Coordinate deployment, configuration and initial application package instances including patching of infrastructure.
- Coordinate root cause analysis and rectification of problems via Problem and Change Management process.
- Improve and author high-quality technical and training documentation including diagrams, as built/as configured for the virtual and supporting ICT infrastructure.
- Contribute to the development of Specifications and Statement of Work for Quotation and Procurement of Software and Hardware.
- Extensive experience working in a computer systems architect role.
- Extensive experience working in an engineering project environment (preferably within the defence industry).
- Significant experience in the administration, configuration, deployment, management of virtual infrastructure.
- Significant experience in the administration of large, complex ICT System solutions for defence environments.
- Significant experience in supporting, investigating, diagnosing, and resolving ICT related technical issues for physical, virtualized environments, applications, varying OS, and database systems.
- Experience with technologies including VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, Docker Container Engine, Windows Server, RHEL, NetApp Storage Area Network (SAN) and storage protocols, Cisco Routing and Switching, and Firewalls including Access Control Lists (ACL's) or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies and strategies such as Veeam/Commvault.
- Well-developed analysis skills with an ability to develop and evaluate alternatives to determine best value based on customer-driven objectives.
- Strong understanding of existing and emerging engineering industry capabilities
- Familiarity with industry-standard architectural frameworks or methodologies, such as TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF, the Model Based Systems Engineering Method and subsequent decomposition of ICT based engineering requirements.
- Understanding of Security principles including PSPF and DSPF requirements, and ISM guidelines will be advantageous.
- Degree qualifications in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
- An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data, and information.

Your responsibilities will include:
The Computer System Architect will actively contribute to the objectives of Engineering & Technology (E&T) by supporting the complex ICT Infrastructure of various Lockheed Martin Australia (LMA) Programs and wider business.
The Architect will provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on virtualized & physical server infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and engineering applications and will leverage their expertise to drive efficiencies through the optimisation and automation of ICT systems deployments and sustainment activities.
You will work with small teams to complete application, development and infrastructure related activities supporting the Business line and E&T objectives. Using their expertise to ensure that efficiencies are captured and implemented through the optimisation and automation of ICT systems deployments and sustainment activities.
