    About the Role:

    The Senior Manager Planning & Operations will be responsible for leading a diverse and growing team of Project Managers and subject matter experts to plan and operationalise AGL's Energy Hubs, including site master planning, enabling infrastructure and provision of site services such as power, water and waste management. This team will work closely with site based engineering and project teams to assess and develop recommendations that draw together engineering, regulatory and financial assessments, leveraging the Strategy & Analysis team to develop business cases to support AGL and third party investment. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the development of the Hub operating model, including development of key processes and interfaces with any potential future third party service providers and for leading negotiations with Regulators and Planning Authorities, leveraging the Commercial team as required.

    The Low Carbon Industrial Energy Hubs will be underpinned by circular economy principles. Developments will encompass mixed industrial use, together with agriculture, biodiversity and education/technology precincts.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Experience leading project and consulting teams on major brownfield developments, gained from within the industrial property sector
    • Site infrastructure planning, involving developing and implementing a work program of site and infrastructure planning, regulatory and financial assessments
    • Oversee and lead negotiations with Regulators, Planning Authorities and potential future Hub partners
    • Develop business cases and operating model recommendations for the executive team and the Board, as well as potential 3rd party public and private partners
    • Build relationships with site based teams to leverage site knowledge to enable a seamless transition from planning, construction and operational phases for Hub development
    • Provide operational input into the development of foundational commercial terms and conditions with customers and innovation at the forefront
    • Recruit, train, manage and coach the team in accordance with AGL's values and HSE systems

    About You:

    You will ideally be a dynamic and outcome focused leader with strong problem solving and stakeholder management skills. Your exposure to brownfields project development, strategic thinking and comfort dealing with ambiguity will set you up for success.

    What you'll bring to the table:

    • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, commerce law or similar disciplines
    • Extensive experience in brownfield project delivery, ideally within the commercial property development, energy or heavy industrial environments
    • The ability to identify the "deal space" and achieve risk optimised decision making
    • Strategic problem solving, decision making and prioritisation skills
    • Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
