    Mining - Engineering & Maintenance (Mining, Resources & Energy) Protech are currently recruiting for an experienced Welding & Coatings Inspector to join our team for an immediate start at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.

    Deliver routine QC inspections to nominated Structural Welding repairs at field-based locations at DBCT P/L.
    Participate in quality & safety related Investigations (where requested by line manager).
    Formulate and structure welding management QC documentation.
    Monitoring documentation during use and compilation of MDR packages.

    Provide ownership of DBCT P/L's Structural Maintenance and welding ITP process, QA documentation and feedback loop to Managers & related Stakeholders for historical reference.

    Reporting – preventative, proactive and reactive findings relating to QA non-conformances to nominated roles including the PCSM Superintendent, Engineers, Managers and Supervisors.

    Recognition of quality non-compliance issues through field-based observations.
    Coaching and mentoring of site teams to recognise and educate QA/QC compliance to 'best practice 'industry standards. Participate in QA/QC document control reviews to ensure activity-based risks to DBCT P/L are managed.
    Reporting of non-conformances when identified as departures from site specifications.
    This role has no accommodation supplied.

    The successful candidate will either need to reside in the Mackay region or obtain their own accommodation for the duration of employment.


    Requirements for the role:

    The successful candidate will require the following experience/ qualifications: Minimum of 5 years Structural Steel Industry experience; 5 years minimum in a similar QA/QC role.

    Experience with electronic and handheld QA instrumentation, kits & software.

    Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation including specifications and safe work procedures to deliver positive QA and Safety outcomes.

    Exposure to CMMS or Quality Management Systems in previous roles.
    NACE Level 1 minimum qualification (essential) and willingness to obtain NACE Level 2.
    As a minimum IWS International Welding Specialist and or AS 2214 Structural Steel Welding Supervisor.
    Post trade experience in heavy fabrication and heavy repair.
    Cert 4 Training & Assessment or similar (desirable).
    Intermediate PC User skills in the areas of MS Excel, MS Word & MS Outlook.
    Experience in writing technical QA/QC reports.
    Current Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications (or willing to obtain).
    EWP licence will be highly regarded.
    MSIC (or willing to obtain).
    Construction White Card (or willing to obtain).
    Current Driver's Licence.
