    About this role

    Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver; design, construct, maintenance, and facilities management services as part of the P4S program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney.

    D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. We will provide long term employment opportunities to diversify the skills of the people of the southern region of Sydney as well as creating pathways to enter the water industry.

    D4C is seeking a Lead Supervisor/ Superintendent to join their expanding team to deliver excellence in the water project program of works across the Southern Region.

    What this role will entail?

    The Lead Supervisor/ Superintendent will plan and deliver all relevant scopes of construction work across the Waste Water Treatment portfolio to ensure effective delivery of planned schedules within the planned time and budget.

    They will also provide effective leadership and sustainable working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to contribute to site safety, quality and environment controls and risk management.

    As a Lead Supervisor/ Superintendent you'll be leading a program of works and joining a 10-year project. Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:

    • Overseeing a team of Supervisors across multiple sites/projects to ensure construction delivery and stakeholder expectations are met.
    • Providing and taking leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management
    • Providing leadership in risk management, identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and build a risk management culture.
    • Utilising project planning skills to plan work, monitor implementation and effectiveness to achieve outcomes for whole of project life.
    • Ensuring compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures
    • Ensuring constructability and productivity inputs are captured in estimates working with the pre-contracts team
    • Working closely with the workforce operations team to ensure maximum utilisation of self-perform labour, plant & equipment
    • Reviewing design documentation, read drawings, provide constructive review and oversee implementation of final designs
    • Performing all duties in accordance with Sydney Water policies, processes, systems and procedures
    • Active daily involvement in planning activities with Construction Lead, Engineers and Supervisors to ensure each project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Monitoring and collating daily site reports from projects to ensure any emerging safety, quality, environmental or productivity issues are dealt with accordingly.
    • Assisting project teams to develop and mature scopes, estimates and programs in the pre-award phase (stage 1) of projects.
    • Providing input for forecasting and construction program to Construction Lead/ Engineers during delivery phase (Stage 2) of projects.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Trade Qualification or similar. Construction Management qualification desirable but not essential.
    • Minimum 10 years previous construction experience in a similar role
    • Proven experience in industry relevant construction operations of similar scale
    • People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
    • Skill in review of design documentation, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
    • Current Drivers licence
    • White card

    Highly regarded experience:

    • Experience in Brownfield construction works, cut-over and outage planning.
    • Experience in LOTO and commissioning roles on M&E packages.
    • Experience in Site manager roles for Tier 1 companies.
    • Experience in delivering works using a self-perform workforce.
