    • Permanent staff position in the Gunnedah Basin, NSW
    • Attractive salary package including bonus, housing allowance, full relocation & company supplied vehicle. Monday to Friday roster with option of 9-day fortnight

    What we offer:
    An exciting opportunity to manage the contracts, procurement & warehouse functions at Boggabri Coal Operations. This includes managing the sourcing process and subsequent contract management processes for all supply and service contracts for ongoing operations and capital requirements. In addition, the position will manage the warehouse and associated inventory processes.

    Boggabri Coal Mine (BCO) is an open-cut coal operation producing in excess of 7 million tonnes per annum, and with a mine life extending through until 2033. BCO is located approximately 57kms from Narrabri, 60 km from Gunnedah and 23km from Boggabri NSW. These historic small country towns offer community spirit and a unique and diverse country lifestyle.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Manage the negotiation process for key supply agreements within the operations
    • Work with internal customers to fully understand their procurement needs and ensure that these are delivered
    • Review spend for nominated categories and determine appropriate contracting models, deriving volume synergies where possible, whilst balancing and maintaining local service levels.
    • Develop project plans, deliverables, metrics, and milestones
    • Act as functional representative within operations providing link between maintenance, operations, and Group Procurement & Supply Chain
    • Collaborate with maintenance and operational mangers to establish short-term and long-term business objectives
    • Ensure delivery services and operational spare parts procurement
    • Develop strong, customer focused relationships with key stakeholders
    • Direct the development and negotiation of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives
    • Demand analysis and investigation
    • Understand and monitor current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges
    • Implement a rigorous and disciplined process for managing the supply base including leading periodic business reviews, monitoring, and managing supplier performance
    • Provide the staff with stores management skills and advice to effectively manage inventory
    • Assist staff to maintain stocks / materials to sufficient levels.
    • Initiate audit processes to ensure the effective operation of the stores facilities and systems
    • Manage process and system improvements within the stores

    What we're looking for:

    Key skills and qualifications:

    • Prior experience in a Senior Contracts / Procurement role
    • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Law or a related field preferred
    • Proven track record of delivering savings and maximising value within previous roles.
    • Experience in leading multi-level cross functional teams
    • Prior experience in warehouse management
    • Can demonstrate a strategic approach to contracts, procurement and warehousing.
    • Coal mining experience (preferred but not essential)
