    CGH Medical Imaging is a multidisciplinary department with Ultrasound at the forefront of the Diagnostic Imaging Stream.

    CGH has 5 US machines across two sites which all are less than 3 years old.

    sonographers work closely with other staff to provide the best outcome for patients.

    About the Role

    Provide and interpret a range of medical imaging examinations for diagnosis and management of medical conditions for patients/clients of the Medical Imaging department of Central Gippsland Health and optimizing diagnostic quality whilst maintaining patient dignity, and under infection control guidelines.

    This will occur within the principles of care coordination, where patients/clients/residents have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system

    Classifications for this position will range from classification as per Health professional award and will be based on Experience.

    Duties

  • Provide medical imaging service consistent with your qualifications, capability and service
  • Display knowledge, principles and concepts that underpin Sonography
  • Think critically, creatively and reflectively
  • Act as positive role model displaying application of professional and clinical skills and ethical responsibilities
  • Contribute to the care, welfare and clinical management of others
  • Maintain lifelong learning attributes
  • Provide supervision and education to Medical Imaging students
  • Perform medical imaging sonography services- as outlined in medical imaging sonography protocol manual across a broad range of patient age groups and presentations
  • About You

  • Hold a recognised undergraduate or post graduate degree in sonography from a recognised educational institution.
  • Hold or be eligible for Unrestricted Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) Registration
