    The City is seeking Parks Operators to actively assist with day to day maintenance tasks inclusive of all aspects of horticultural, landscaping and turf management while operating under the general direction of the Team Leader.

    Reporting to the Team Leader Parks, these positions will support the City by:

  • Operating a wide range of horticultural equipment and plant machinery and ensuring these items are maintained and in a clean, workable and safe condition.
  • Assisting with the preparation and planting of garden beds and landscapes, mowing, brush-cutting and edging of parks, reserves and open spaces as required.
  • Supporting programs for the advancement of Best Practice and 'doing things better'.
  • Providing feedback on any faults/accidents or machinery maintenance requirements to the Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Ensuring safe and compliant work practices in accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, as well as the City's safe systems of work.
  • The ideal candidates will have knowledge of current horticulture practices and equipment and will operate as part of a team providing high quality customer service to residents, members of the public, including tourists, shopkeepers and visitors.
