    The Opportunity


    In line with the firm's transformation agency and ambitious growth planes, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Legal Project Manager to join either our Sydney or Melbourne office.


    Though you will work closely with and will have the support of the wider international Legal Project Management team, the purpose of this role is to build our Legal Project Management capability in Australia.


    The primary purpose of this role will be to support lawyers in ongoing management and delivery of key client matters/projects.


    You will contribute to the development of client matter governance, matter strategy; as well as financial and profitability tracking for the matters you have been assigned to.

    In this role, you be responsible for championing the uptake and use of Legal Project Management amongst our lawyers as well as clients and receive on-the-job-training provided by a team of project managers and senior lawyers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assist with monitoring progress against plans; budget spend against estimate; risks, issues and actions logs and assist in coordinating project activities and resources
    Liaise and co-ordinate with the Pricing/Billing teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
    Support in responses to tenders, bids and RFPs
    Assist in the analysis of Management Information to ensure ongoing efficiency on matters
    Identify project issues and deal with them as appropriate, escalating in a timely manner to lawyers or senior legal project managers
    Manage and maintain project configuration items, including change control documents and project templates, ensuring all documents are filed in the appropriate workspace/location
    Preparation and management of regular project status reports as required; acting as a point of contact for the project team on project statuses
    Assist team members in the preparation, upkeep and delivery of communication plans, steering group and other presentations, organisational charts and other governance-related documentation
    Arrange and coordinate project team meetings, document actions agreed and ensure relevant project documents are updated
    Provide support to Head of Legal Project Management, as required, to complete governance and reporting activities including project prioritisation, portfolio management and project status reporting

    This role will work closely with our legal practice groups and will need to build strong working relationships at all levels of the business including with clients of the Firm.


    You will also have the following skills:
    At least two years' experience in a professional services environment
    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook and Word. Understanding of MS Sharepoint and HighQ Collaborate an advantage
    Higher level education qualified
    Project Management qualification, APM foundation, PRINCE2 foundation, PMP or P3O, preferred
    Familiar with governance, control, planning, reporting, portfolio, programme and project management
    Ability to demonstrate an interest in and understanding of fundamental project management concepts and project management approaches
    Highly numerate with ability to work with financial information including strong technical skills in relation to financial systems, and
    Bring energy, passion, inclusion and empathy to the role
