    About the organisation
The Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV) was established under Part 6 of the Architects Act 1991 to administer the registration system for architects, architectural partnerships, and companies. The ARBV is comprised of a board of oversight, a Registrar who is responsible for maintaining the register and who carries out the functions and duties of the Chief Executive Officer, and a small number of staff. Responsible to the Minister for Planning through the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), the ARBV works in collaboration with DTP and other government agencies as required to achieve the best possible outcomes for the industry.

    About the role
Responsible to the Minister for Planning, the Board Members will contribute the leadership and strategic direction to the ARBV in carrying out its regulatory functions. This includes setting qualifications and experience requirements for registration, regulating registration examinations, accrediting architecture courses with schools of architecture, conducting examinations, issuing certificates of registration, and managing registrations and approvals. Liaising with a range of critical stakeholders across government, community and industry, the Board Members will inform collective decision-making and provide expert opinions for the betterment of the profession of architecture and the building industry.
