    Salary Range: $1,008 - $1,151 per 38 hour week + superannuation with a fortnightly RDO

  • The Position

    The Water Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the water truck, with the goal of keeping gravel/ clay road surfaces at optimum moisture content.

    You will be responsible for daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment, proper machine start-up, operation and shutdown, filling of the water tank and distributing water in designated areas.
    In this role you will also train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Water Truck as required and operate other heavy equipment and other construction duties, including but not limited to traffic control and labouring tasks as required.

    Essential Requirements

  • Commitment to Council's Mission, Values and Code of Conduct
  • Understanding of work health and safety (WHS) in the workplace and commitment to a positive contribution to WHS in the workplace and compliance with Council and legislative requirements
  • Minimum two years' relevant experience including at least six months operation of water truck
  • Class HR NSW Drivers Licence
  • OHS Construction Induction Certificate ("whitecard")
  • Stop/Slow Traffic Controller Ticket
  • Experience operating a range of road maintenance and/or construction plant and equipment
  • Sound oral and communication skills to allow effective team communication and completion of required documentation such as risk assessments, pre-start checklists, hazard reports and timesheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform as an effective team member in an operational environment.
  • Desirable Requirements

  • Implement Traffic Control Plans ticket
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction
  • Demonstrated ability to operate rollers and tip trucks
