    The role

    We are currently looking for an intelligent and enthusiastic full-time Paralegal to join our Restructuring, Recoveries & Disputes team in our Perth office. In this role you will need to provide both accurate and timely support to the team, you will be a confident individual with a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.

    Duties

    • Drafting Notices, demands, pleadings and general correspondence
    • Drafting statements of claim, judgments, writs of possession
    • E-filing of court documents
    • Assisting with the general management and running of files to meet client service level requirements and protect our clients' interests on all matters
    • Telephone calls and general correspondence with clients, debtors and third parties to progress the files (involves taking instructions, negotiating proposals with debtors)
    • Regular follow ups of security packets, process servers, court documents etc.
    • Preparing discharge of mortgages and arranging settlement, as required
    • Preparing files for eviction
    • Identifying complex, sensitive and high risk matters and escalating them to a Lawyer
    • Basic clerical duties associated with running your files


    Our requirements

    • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for running a file
    • Strong organisational skills to manage a large number of files at a time and meet deadlines
    • Good interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, debtors and internal staff
    • A team player, willing to help others when necessary
    • Accuracy and attention to detail
