    Summerhall are recruiting for a brilliant box office team to help deliver their 2024 fringe programme this August.


    Job Title:
    Box Office Supervisor

    Rate of Pay:
    £12.50 per hour + holiday pay

    Perks:
    All staff will receive a staff pass which gives first-come first-served access to shows which are not sold out and discounts on food and drinks in the Summerhall bars

    Contract Type:
    Temporary, fixed term for 4 weeks (1st – 26th August 2024), PAYE employed

    WHAT IS THE JOB?

    Our brilliant Box Office team play a vital role during the Fringe and are instrumental in sharing our incredible shows with our audiences, selling tickets, and giving recommendations based on audience interests.

    This fast-paced, public-facing role is one of the first points of contact for most audiences attending the festival, so a high standard of customer service and a bright personality are a must.

    Ideally you will have worked in a box office before, but we are open to training and skilling-up the right candidates.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Supervising a small team of Box Office Assistants, selling Fringe tickets, talking to audiences, giving advice, directions and recommending shows
    • Using your own initiative to lead a busy publicfacing box office environment.
    • Acting as the first point of escalation for any customer issues or complaints. Ensuring all issues are escalated as required to the relevant teams in a timely manner.
    • Answering customer enquiries via email, phone and in person.
    • Assisting audiences who have specific access requirements.
    WHO ARE YOU?

    • Enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking, responsible and reliable
    • Ability to problem solve and deescalate issues calmly and professionally
    • Have a passion for the arts and an excitement for Summerhall's Fringe programme
    • Able to work well under pressure and during very busy peaks of service
    • Experience in a customer service role at a festival or arts organisation would be nice, but not essential

    RECRUITMENT INFORMATION

    • All staff will be issued a fixed term contract, guaranteeing 3040 hours per week.
