    THE OPPORTUNITY:


    Reporting into the Geology Superintendent, the Senior Geologist is accountable for Grade control and Production Geology to maximize recovery, throughput and grade through the mining process and optimize the blend through the processing plant.

    This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.


    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Leadership
    Maintaining high quality geological processes and procedures
    Supervise and mentor Mine Geologists and Pit Technicians.
    Assist to develop and implement a training matrix for the geology team.
    Assist to develop a culture of continuous improvement.

    Ensure all geology activity conducted by employees and contractors within the mining lease areas is conducted safely and achieves regulatory compliance.

    Drive a proactive safety culture to prevent harm to personnel and company assets, monitoring and ensuring safe geological work practices and mandatory safety training for the team is completed.

    Ensure environmental regulatory compliance by the Geology Team.

    Co-ordinate the design, scheduling and implementation of RC grade control drilling programs for the life of mine and short-term requirements.

    Set up and maintenance of the grade control, assay, quality control, and mineral resource reconciliation systems, and the daily, weekly and monthly reporting systems.

    Develop and initiate geological mapping systems in the mine areas.
    Continuously improving the grade control model through timely grade control drilling, geological inputs, interpretation and reconciliation
    Manage resource model reconciliation and grade control model.
    Manage all information related to the resource, ensuring assays composites and densities related information is accurate and validated.
    Production Geology
    Liaising with the drilling and blasting contractors and Mine Production Engineers.
    Participation in daily mine planning and meetings.

    Manage and validate the timely and accurate collection of geological information to contribute to mine planning and optimize the mining resource.

    Develop ore and waste mark out system.
    Daily, weekly and month end reporting.
    Provide interpretative and supportive commentary for reports and recommendations to management.
    Manage ROM and stockpiling processes to meet the requirements of the Processing plant.
    Cost Management
    Assist to develop and maintain the mine geology budget.
    Assist with managing expenses within approved guidelines and limits and within budget.

    Assist with the review and approval of geology services, drilling and assay program cost management to ensure best investment spend and cost efficiency.


    ABOUT YOU
    Degree in Geology
    Current Competency - Providing First Aid
    7-10 yrs.
    experience in a similar role and geology team
    Demonstrates strong Leadership
    DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
    Training in Section 44 of the MSIA
    Certification of supervision training
    Qualifications in Geostatistics
    Surpac and spatial data modeling software
