    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    Part time job share - 16 hours a week

    The Elective Surgery Access Manager is responsible for the coordination and oversight of planned surgical admissions to Mercy Hospital for Women.

    The Surgical Access Manager is responsible for the management and integrity of the Elective Surgery waiting lists, including compliance with Elective Surgery Access Policy and Elective Surgery Information Systems business rules, compliance with National Elective Surgery Targets and Pre-Admission process.

    This position works closely with Surgical Units, Surgical Ward, Day of Surgery Admissions and Operating Theatres to ensure bookings are managed efficiently and utilisation of theatre sessions is maximised.

  • As Surgical Access Manager you will provide effective leadership to the Surgical Access Office team
  • You will coordinate and manage effective and efficient utilisation of the theatre sessions
  • You will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with departments and stakeholders across the organisation to facilitate patient care
  • ABOUT YOU:

    We are looking for a committed and strong leader with excellent people management skills to take on this role. The Surgical Access Manager will have:

  • Registered Nurse with Current APHRA
  • A minimum of 5 Years Post Registration experience
  • Post-Graduate or Higher certification
  • Knowledge of the Elective Surgery Access Policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change management.
  • Demonstrated project management and data analysis skills
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
  • Advanced computer word/excel skills highly desirable.
