    Karara Mining Limited (KML) is a joint venture between Gindalbie Metals Limited and AnSteel, one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

    With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

    We are seeking Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians who are interested in joining our Wet and Dry Plant Maintenance team across the Karara mine site.

    This role operates on an 8 days on 6 days off day shift roster with rotational night shift.

    Key responsibilities;

    • Maintain electrical infrastructure for the plant as per the weekly schedule
    • Identify and recommend plant improvements to reduce cost and down time
    • Actively demonstrate behaviours in alignment to Karara's Company Values and lifesaving commitments.
    • Ensure that all statutory and organisational, operational, reliability and safety requirements are always adhered to
    • Complete inspections to identify faults and raise quality notifications in SAP.
    • Conduct preventative maintenance and repair electrical plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner
    • Conduct general repairs and calibration of industrial instrumentation
    • Logically and systematically solve problems by implementing sound fault finding processes
    • Conduct HV switching safely, competently and in accordance with Karara access and work procedures
    • Assist with PLC investigation and repairs
    • Ensure all electrical work activity is carried out in accordance with AS3000 and site safety standards and procedures
    • An Electrical trade certification and WA A-grade Electrical Licence
    • HV Operator ticket
    • Cert III or IV Instrumentation (desirable)
    • Current Senior First Aid / CPR & LVR certificates
    • Licenses - High Risk EWP, WAH, Confined Spaces
    • A basic understanding of SAP maintenance systems (desirable)
    • Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
    • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of process plant equipment
    • Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
    • National Police clearance
