    The role

    We currently have an opportunity for full-time Gulfstream G150 First Officers to join our International & Domestic Air Ambulance Jet operation, located in Darwin.

    This dedicated service provides a medically configured jet with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to support aeromedical retrievals and inter-hospital transfers across domestic locations within Australia and Internationally into South-East Asia. This role would suit a candidate seeking to move into a challenging aeromedical role in a high performance and modern glass cockpit turbojet operating across remote areas and international locations.

    You will have a unique opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals and be part of Australia's only fully integrated aeromedical operation comprising of pilots, medical crews, engineering and logistics.

    The First Officer role within the jet group is an entry level position within CareFlight. Professional development and progression to command positions is normally through the company King Air B200 fleet.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Actively participate in the processes used by CareFlight to organise and manage effective flight operations maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in all operations
    • G150 operations to include both regular domestic routes and adhoc international Medevacs
    • Maintain open lines of communication to supervisors, and other crew members
    • Adequately prepare for all flights
    • Maintain a high and consistent level of visual and instrument flight skills
    • Resolve real, or practices, in-flight emergencies safely and efficiently
    • During flight operations, comply with Company Procedures, and aviation regulations
    • Maintain a high standard of procedural and regulatory knowledge
    • Use effective communication techniques within the cockpit environment
    • Maintain a high level of situational awareness during missions and recognises degradation
    • Effectively brief medical team prior to flights, or evolutions within flights, and conducts debriefs
    • Demonstrate a high standard of decision making and leadership in the conduct of flights.
    • actively supporting the Captain in the safe and efficient conduct of operations
    • ensuring maximum comfort and courtesy towards patients, passengers and clients; and
    • maintaining a neat personal appearance when on duty

    About you

    To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

    • Australian resident status, living in Darwin.
    • 1000 hours total
    • 750 hours PIC
    • CPL (pass in all ATPL subjects)
    • Multi-Engine Endorsement
    • MCC certification
    • 3 IFR renewals
    • Class 1 medical
    • the ability to work effectively as part of a team

    • a willingness to take on additional responsibility as required
