    Projects like the Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program require a Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electrical system design to lead the creation and delivery of critical systems and sub-systems.

    The Principal Electrical Engineer is tasked with utilizing their Electrical and Power Systems expertise to efficiently design, develop, deliver, maintain, and advance next-generation autonomous vehicles throughout the product life-cycle.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Drive the development and design of innovative electrical systems and products tailored to our company's specific needs.
    • Lead and guide a team of electrical engineers to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into clear electrical engineering milestones.
    • Conduct in-depth research to identify emerging electrical technologies and best practices that can enhance our product portfolio.
    • Create and manage comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the product development process.
    • Perform detailed electrical calculations, simulations, and testing to evaluate system performance and enhance efficiency.
    • Tackle complex electrical engineering issues and offer innovative solutions in a fast-paced development environment.
    • Establish project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, efficiently managing resources and budgets for successful project outcomes.
    • Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and proactively apply new knowledge to enhance our products.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Proven experience in a leadership role within defense, tech, or other fast-paced environments, successfully driving electrical engineering projects from conception to market launch.
    • Deep expertise in electrical engineering principles, techniques, and technologies, with a history of delivering innovative solutions.
    • Proficiency in industry-standard electrical design and simulation software.
    • Excellent leadership skills, capable of motivating and mentoring a team while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a creative mindset to tackle diverse and evolving challenges.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with best practices in fast-paced environments, including agility, adaptability, and the aptitude to thrive in dynamic settings.
    • Passion for technology and a curiosity to stay informed about the latest industry advancements.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in designing electrical and power systems for unmanned vehicles.
    • Experience working on defense programs following relevant standards.

    The salary range for this position is an estimate based on various compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.

    Actual salary offer may vary depending on factors like work experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations.
