    Role Details:

    Reporting to the Lead: Environment, you will be responsible for the management of environmental activities in accordance with Gold Fields EHS standards whilst maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements to ensure sustainable mining operations.

    This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth.

    About the role:

    • Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of proactive environmental management
    • Ensure effective programs with controls are in place to be compliant with legislative and corporate obligations
    • Contribute to sustainable mining by advising on and facilitating approvals for operations, including but not limited to considerations of tenure, stakeholder consultation and legal permissions under the relevant Environment and Mining Acts
    • Assist in the continuous improvement and maintenance of the site's ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System
    • Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
    • Providing education and assistance to Gold Fields staff in environmental matters onsite
    • Compiling and reviewing internal and external environmental reports for regulators and corporate process.

    About you:

    • A Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or similar
    • Previous experience in an environmental function
    • A good understanding of Western Australia legislation (DEMIRS & DWER)
    • Experienced in Environmental Annual reports, NPI/NGERS, site inspections, ISO14001 and monitoring programs
    • Previous experience in managing land access, approvals, closure projects and associated stakeholder engagement will be highly regarded but not essential
    • Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS applications
    • Ability to communicate well on all levels within the business
