    About the role:

    The Analytics and Insights Lead resides in the Retail Markets Team reporting to the Retail Reporting and Analytics Value Stream Manager. This role is a mix of technical and leadership responsibilities will be a key contributor to Alinta's continued growth and success. As part of the Insights Team, the Analytics and Insights Lead supports the Retail Reporting and Analytics Value Stream through the development of business specifications, engaging with stakeholders to understand and document data requirements and creating prototype data products such as reports, DataMarts and Power BI dashboards. This role may also involve leading a small team of analysts in the future.

    In this role, you'll be:

  • Eliciting requirements in relation to data products and converting them into user stories
  • Creating reports and dashboards from large and complex data assets using SQL Databricks and Power BI
  • Validating and testing to ensure quality of data products created by Data Engineers, and creating technical specifications to enable Data Engineers to execute
  • Actively engaging with the stakeholders to refine Data Products Backlog
  • Mentoring and supporting analysts within your team and across the whole Retail Business Unit
  • Ideally, you'll bring to the role:

  • Significant experience in data and analytics function within a large organization environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, IT, mathematics, statistics, data science or other relevant numeric discipline
  • Experience designing BI & reporting solutions, including solid SQL skills
  • Basic understanding of patterns used in data warehousing such as star schema, CDC and SCD, and exposure to data cloud technologies
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work in a team environment to effectively prioritize workloads
  • This role best suits a technical leader with solid SQL and Python skills, experience with BI tools and cloud data warehouses, understanding of ETL patterns (CDC, SCD) as well as excellent stakeholder management skills.
