This is a Permanent Full-Time appointment - Occupant of this position must be of Aboriginal descent and Male. ( 50d - Male)
We're looking for someone who brings heart, connection, and cultural wisdom to the role of Aboriginal Mental Health Liaison Officer.
It's a chance to be a trusted support for Aboriginal individuals and families navigating mental health services, and to help shape a system that listens, respects, and responds.

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.
We are seeking a passionate and culturally grounded Aboriginal Mental Health Liaison Officer to join our team.
This vital role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities by bridging cultural understanding between clients and mental health services.
You will play a key part in improving access, engagement, and outcomes for Aboriginal people experiencing mental health challenges.
The successful applicant shall liaises and negotiates with Aboriginal communities and health professionals in the Peel Community area to develop, plan and implement of culturally safe mental health services.
Works in partnership with Assertive Treatment Team and case managers, as a key worker, to provide cultural consultation and broker engagement with cultural traditional healers.

Eligibility To Apply

WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service.
