    Introduction

    We are seeking a _Workshop Supervisor to join our Repairs team in Tomago. You will be responsible for providing effective front line leadership to the Repairs and Refurbishment workshop team.

    This position is located in Tomago, NSW.

    What you'll do

    By fostering a 'Working as One' culture, you will:

  • Identify competency gaps in the Repairs Workshop team and implement training, as required.
  • Mentor Leading Hand/s and develop both their technical and leadership skills.
  • Maintain manning levels for fluctuating schedules.
  • Monitor projects, ensuring that the company quality standards and profit objectives are being met.
  • Work closely with the planning/coordination team to deliver the best outcome of planned work.
  • Manage the workshop schedule and maximize efficiency within the team to reduce overheads and support profitability.
  • Carry out investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products.
  • Record, analyze and inform concerned personnel of quality assurance issues.
  • Ensure accurate "live" tracking of large jobs with support of the Administration Assistant.
  • Provide onsite supervision to company and customer representatives.
  • Set and maintain statutory testing logs for all plant and machinery in the Repairs Workshop.
  • Provide technical liaison between customers, product divisions and sales personnel, as required, to resolve any technical or DIFOT concerns.
  • Perform technical evaluations of the team and develop a minimum standard to be incorporated into the training matrix.
  • Promote the sales of OEM spare parts and wears material components and provide technical support.
  • Ensure the Workshop team are well presented, and a high level of housekeeping standard is maintained.
  • Determine customer needs and achieve excellence in service.
  • Assist with roll out of Dynamics (Digital Reporting).
  • Who you are

  • Mechanical Trade Qualified with 5 or more years' experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, safety procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and technical manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work long hours (up to 12-hour shifts) as required, including early morning starts.
  • Desirable

  • Significant experience, supervising a repairs team, in a workshop environment.
  • MS Office Suite intermediate experience/skills.
  • SAP Experience.
  • OEM maintenance/service experience.
