    Description

    Sitting within the Future Homes team, the Planner works collaboratively to assist the implementation and delivery of Future Homes Program. It requires a motivated individual who will be part of a broader team that delivers key policy commitments and provides quality planning services to local government, the development sector, peak bodies and other government agencies. The position will also assist in the creation of new apartment design typologies as well as undertaking statutory planning assessments of live Future Homes proposals. Management of the statutory and non-statutory responsibilities of a permit application and referral application will be critical.

    Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Planning, Urban Design, or related discipline is highly desirable and preferred.
    • Statutory planning experience in the assessment of planning permit applications, preferably low-scale apartment developments (Clause 55).
    • An understanding of government policies and programs with an emphasis on the built environment and design.
    • Understanding of the Victoria Planning Provisions and the Planning and Environment Act 1987, particulrly Part 4 of the Act.

    This is a fixed term position available for a period of 16 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria.
