    About the Company

    Our client was established in 1977, primarily concentrating on rewinds and repairs of electric motors and pumps. Since this time, they have expanded into new markets including the repair of generators and trailing cable, and entering the retail sector. They are now the industry leaders by providing a wide range of products and quality repair services to back them up.

    About the role

    The Armature Winder shall assess, identify faults, record, rewind and repair pumps, electric motors, gearboxes and generators, by following our client's standards and procedures to ensure customer requirements are always met.

    Key Responsibilities for the role

    • Rewind AC and DC electric motors and armatures including, taking winding data, making coils, rewinding, varnishing and baking and final testing
    • Disassemble, assess, and reassemble all sorts of pumps, generators, electric motors and gearboxes as requested by the Workshop Foreman
    • Assess, identify and record any damage on pump, electric motors, generators or gearboxes
    • Safely perform all tests / electrical tests required and sign off on job card
    • Take photos during dismantling and assembly as per the company standards and procedures and save photos in the appropriate job folder on the company's database
    • Complete all necessary paperwork associated with the job in a thorough and legible manner
    • Notify the Workshop Foreman immediately if the allocated timeframes cannot be met
    • Be available for overtime when required
    • Work with the maximum efficiency of time and the minimum amount of errors and rework
    • Keep workbenches and workshop clean and tidy; return tools to their correct place after use making sure parts and jobs are stored in the right locations
    • Keep walk-way paths clear at all times
    • Undertake ongoing training as required
    • Work in accordance with company's WHS and Quality system
    • Assist with the calibration and maintenance of plant and equipment as required
    • Perform any other duties as required by the Workshop Foreman/Supervisors

    Skills & experience

    • Proven experience in the same or similar role
    • Sound knowledge of workshop procedures.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Problem solving skills.
    • Sound knowledge of trade requirements and skills.
    • Tradesman's certificate in related industry or relevant work experience.
    • Forklift license (or able to apply for one)
    • Sound knowledge of requirements for winding, fitting, machining, and all workshop requirements.
    • Rewind of AC and DC machines.
    • High degree of kindness and care for others
