    Job Title

    Application Support Engineer

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • Support and ensure high system availability through the prevention and recovery of incidents on proprietary and cloud-based components and services Take ownership of and resolve incidents and problems encountered in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Perform seamless change management with all necessary due diligence. When you are not managing incidents, contribute to quality initiatives including automating recovery procedures, developing tools to support monitoring, early incident detection and recovery, assist with onboarding and training along with continuous training on different technologies to support new and existing applications

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose and recover automated and customer reported incidents including follow-up and input to post-incident reports leading to continuous improvement and development of Amadeus systems and technology.
    • Ensure that the incidents are handled according to the Incident Management Process.
    • Review processes & tools used by the team and in conjunction with the other global sites, discuss, document, and develop enhancements including actively following-up on the implementation of improvements in production.
    • Continually develop personal knowledge of the tools, process and best practices within the team including the various application & environments operated by the team in terms of business criticality, dependencies & relationships to other applications and design. Where applicable share this information with team members.
    • Be curious, eager to learn and stay familiar with current and future technologies and trends.
    • Train other team members and keep the training material up to date.
    • Work with the different project teams in order to achieve sign-off for the acceptance of new applications and tools - including the documentation of procedures and training.
    • Participate in implementation projects and take the handover of standard applications- the ones where the architecture is already in production.

    Relevant Work Experience:

    • University degree in IT or computer science/engineering or relevant work experience
    • Hands-on experience with Cloud Technology
    • Technical experience in either IT operations, development, or end-to-end full-stack implementations.
    • Intermediate knowledge and experience working with Linux / Windows based operating systems.
    • Experience with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.
    • Experience working with DevOps tools
    • Knowledge of Container technologies
    • Experience with distributed systems and their ability to scale.
