    : This is an exciting new position which will directly engage with the ACT farming community to embrace regenerative practices and will assist the ACT NRM Sustainable Agriculture team in a collaborative approach to:
  • Accelerate the adoption of land use and management practices that protect the biological function of soils and accelerate the rehydration of landscapes
  • Promote the use of the ACT Regenerative Framework of Agricultural Practice to support whole farm planning in the key areas of water, carbon, soil, emissions and inputs, biodiversity and natural capital, animal welfare, threat mitigation, wellbeing and productivity.
  • Support peer-to-peer learning opportunities and resource sharing
  • Connect the ACT farming community and Landcare organisations with technology, extension and science organisations to increase knowledge and capacity in a changing climate
  • The Regenerative Agriculture Officer will work alongside farmers and other land stewards to improve peer to peer relationships between all stakeholders in the learning and adoption of regenerative practice. This will be achieved through the facilitation of extension programs and projects that assists farmers to assess and monitor how their farming systems are changing and improving over time and through sharing their journey towards modernising practises. The selected candidate will have capacity to effectively communicate with the rural community, be a capable public speaker and be able to create collaborative partnerships. They will also have a strong understanding of soil biology and landscape rehydration techniques.
