    About theRole:

    We are currently seeking a highlyskilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Manager,FOI & Information Release. This role is crucial in shaping andleading the information release operations of the department inalignment with legislation, public sector initiatives, and theorganization's policies and procedures.

    Key responsibilities willinclude:

    • Management of thedepartments National Redress Scheme (for survivors ofhistorical institutional sexual abuse) including the timely andefficient oversight of the search and release of departmentdocuments within legislated and policy guidelines.
    • Managing the departmentsfreedom of information requests in accordance with relevantlegislation and guidelines.
    • Oversight of services fordocument requests for court orders, legal requests, governmentagency requests, administrative release of studentrecords.
    • Lead and manage theprovision of high level confidential and impartial policyadvice to the Director Customer and Information Services andother stakeholders in relation to the FOI Act and informationrelease more broadly in accordance with legislative and policyrequirements.
    • Determine operational policyand procedures within the framework of agency requirements andimplement management practices that ensure a high performingteam and effective systems deliver high quality and equitableservice provision across the Department.

    Qualifications:

    Desirable: Atertiary qualification relevant to education, publicadministration, public policy or equivalent experience.

    SpecialConditions:

    The successful applicant isrequired to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working withchildren check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required tobe renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will berequired to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm,Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass)extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will berequired to be updated every three years.

    Remuneration:

    MAS3 $125,970 per annum (1.0FTE), plus superannuation.
