    Salary: $70,049.73 to $98,351.39 base per annum

    About the role:

    We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Xavier 8 North Surgical Ward. The St Vincent's Surgical Stream is seeking highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our team. The successful applicants will be expected to work within the surgical ward areas caring for patients across a diverse range of surgical specialties, including; Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Gynaecology.

    The surgical wards care for patients requiring post-operative specialised care, following both elective and emergency surgical procedures, and patients admitted from the Intensive Care Unit following complex surgery and trauma. To care for these patients requires the development of an essential skill set, with a focus on patient centred care to keep patients safe, throughout their surgical journey from admission to discharge.

    The Surgical Stream team will provide you the support and opportunity to develop vigorous, pertinent and sensitive nursing skills in a team environment, but with the opportunity to also be autonomous and clinically independent. A range of personal and professional development opportunities exist with robust clinical, educational and leadership pathways, including the "Introduction to Speciality Practice – Surgical Nursing" course run through St Vincent's Health Network, Sydney.

    1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia

    2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

    3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team

    4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

    5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system

    6. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills

    7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse

    8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
