    About the role

    This is an exciting new position within Congress. We arelooking for the right person to come and join our team as a CultureCare Connect Network Coordinator.

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities continue to besignificantly impacted by suicide and suicidal ideation. TheCulture Care Connect program seeks to overcome the inequalityexperienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,integrating suicide prevention planning and response activity bydeveloping and delivering trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercareservices which take into consideration the intersection betweenAOD, SEWB, and other complementary programs.

    The Culture Care Connect Network Coordinator is responsible foroverseeing the program and undertaking service and funding mappingfor the network area. They will be working with community,Aboriginal, and mainstream service providers to understand localneeds, service gaps, locally available services and barriers toaccess. The Coordinator will be responsible for establishingappropriate clinical and cultural governance (to be outlined in theNetwork Suicide Prevention Plan) and supporting delivery of suicideprevention and postvention activity as outlined in the localisedplan. The person in this role will be resourced with strongtraining and ongoing support mechanisms including clinical andcultural supervision.
