Position: Café Manager

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $70,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Brisbane QLD 4000

Our client is seeking a full-time Café Manager to join their team working between their 2 cafes located in Brisbane CBD and Graceville. You will be required to travel between both locations to manage and liaise with kitchen staff.

Tasks required include:

Train and manage staff to complete their tasks to the best of their ability this includes making drinks, coffee, preparing meals, clearing tables and serving customers
Involved in trialling, selecting new staff when required
Prepare staff shifts and manage staff attendance
Manage the point-of-sale register including balancing the register daily
Greet customers and provide excellent service
Daily Stock control, ordering and management of stock – including take-away cups and packaging, coffee beans, milk, chocolate powders, savoury and cake items etc
Retail management -Assist shoppers to find the chocolate products they want and order products as required daily
Stock and manage shelves with chocolate merchandise.
Answer queries from customers including special dietary requirements linked to all products prepared and sold
Manage Food Safety requirements including the recording and reporting process of goods produced.
Manage opening and closing routines including cleaning procedures reticent of the food safety requirements
Responsible for security within the store including store cameras
Keep up to date with special promotions and being involved in creative ideas
Manage staff behaviour and work ethic/culture facilitating a positive and supportive environment
Ensure a friendly and engaging manner; comfortable with the customers, your staff; helpful and polite and always smart and tidy in appearance.
Assist to prepare chocolate products including facilitating the packaging and preparation for sale
Manage chocolate stock – including rotating, ordering and stocking displays daily and recording / removing out of date stock.

Requirements:

Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in relevant field
At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
At least two (2) years of relevant experience as a Café Manager
Must be comfortable working and communicating with people with disabilities and staff members who do not speak English as their first language.
