    Carinity Education Gladstone have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, causal Youth Workers to join the team.

    Carinity Education Gladstone is a Special Assistance School providing expert, coordinated support and educational opportunity to secondary school aged young people disenfranchised from mainstream schooling.

    About the role

    The role of Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing plays an important part in ensuring the social and emotional environment in the school remains positive, respectful, and calm. Under the guidance of our Principal and Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing you will also manage your own caseload of students using the Outcome Star frameworks.

    The role of Youth Worker – Learning Supports aims to develop youth within Carinity Schools, by utilising the 'Outcome StarTM' framework and undertaking a supporting role within the classroom. The Youth Worker – Learning Support is responsible for co-creating Outcome Star survey information with students, ensuring goals are developed and actions are undertaken in pursuit of these.


    What do I need for this role?

    • Certificate IV in Teacher Aide, Youth Work, or similar relevant discipline (Student Wellbeing)
    • Certificate III in Teacher Aide, Youth Work, or similar relevant discipline (Learning Support)
    • Ability to assist with the de-escalation of young people quickly, sensitively, and effectively in moments of personal stress
    • Knowledge of IT based school management systems (TASS or similar) preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to manage student behaviour including the ability to provide sensitivity to cultural and social issues which may affect young people
