    The Opportunity

    The Director, Technology Services is responsible for leading an ambitious program of infrastructure and enterprise services across all the Network, Data Centre, Compute & Storage, Cloud, and Identity environments, including the adoption and transformation to modern enterprise scale services. Reporting to the Vice-President (Services), this role is a senior member of the Executive Leadership Team. The position works collaboratively and innovatively to drive the enhancement and development of technology solutions and strategic priorities within the portfolio, delivering on the ambitions of Monash's strategic plan, Impact 2030. Developing partnerships with other business units, infrastructure service providers and vendor delivery models to provide a seamless experience to customers and end users is a key measure of success. The Director Technology Services is also responsible for delivering hosting solutions that support the University's ongoing requirements in Research, Teaching & Learning and administration in support key of University platforms through the application of advanced computing, data informatics, tools and infrastructure.

    About You

    As an experienced senior leader you will inspire and develop a high-performing team of technical specialists to deliver an effective infrastructure service to meet expected service level targets and to align technology solutions with business strategies. Promoting a culture of innovation and business improvement initiatives is evident throughout your career.

    Postgraduate qualifications or extensive relevant experience at a senior management level in a complex management environment are an essential requirement.

    The successful appointee will also demonstrate:

    • Exceptional analytical and conceptual skills including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and deliver positive, innovative solutions
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and build consensus at senior levels and with diverse stakeholders on complex, sensitive issues
    • Extensive people leadership experience with the ability to effectively manage priorities when working under pressure.
    • Proven ability to be effective and deliver business outcomes when dealing with a high level of ambiguity and change
    • Understanding of and empathy with the education and research agenda within the Higher Education sector and knowledge of the policy environment, culture, structure, and operation of universities
