    Description

Unique role for experienced IT/IP lawyer Attractive salary package (at mid to top tier levels)Fun, relaxed and supportive team of highly experienced IP/IT lawyers Based in eclectic Collingwood (inner northern suburb of Melbourne)Who are we?We are a boutique, dynamic and highly-regarded law firm advising clients on technology and intellectual property matters and related general commercial law as well regulatory compliance.

Our clients range from small technology companies, start-ups, charities and not-for-profits, through to multi-national IT suppliers and blue-chip corporations.

We also have a strong Fin Tech focus; many of us having spent a number of years inhouse in IT/IP legal teams of major banks.

Our model As part of the New Law movement, we provide our services on a value-billing basis.
While we track our time, we don't impose budgets – we are outcomes-focussed and prefer not to micro-manage.
Our team is very supportive and fun to work with. We have an office in Collingwood, Melbourne, but operate on a flexible model allowing team members to work remotely.

That said, all are welcome to work from the Collingwood office and it would be valuable for the successful candidate to do so at least from time to time, to maintain the firm's social culture and cohesion.

We also hold regular social events and CPD sessions - including with other similar boutique firms in complementary areas of law - to bring everyone together, share experience and maintain our collegiate focus.

The role The role would appeal to a reasonably junior (2+ years PQE) IT/IP lawyer (admitted in an Australia State or Territory) who is looking for more flexible work arrangements - and who would value a shift from the 'traditional' law firm model.

The role also offers part-time secondment opportunities into our large corporate clients, if the successful candidate would like to gain inhouse experience with the support of senior colleagues who have been there before.

Requirements Our ideal candidate will have strong drafting and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Experience in negotiations would be useful although not essential at this PQE level.
Past in-house experience and/or experience in a top tier firm would also be viewed favourably.

Remuneration In return, we offer a very competitive salary (at mid to top tier levels), an extra day of leave on your birthday and the opportunity to work as part of our relaxed, professional and supportive team.

Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia? How many years' experience do you have as an Intellectual Property Lawyer? How many years' experience do you have in corporate & commercial law?
