    Description

    The Sourcing Director for the Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Islands (Au NZSP) is an individual contributor, responsible for managing and executing Visa's sourcing strategy.

    This includes identifying potential suppliers, analyzing supplier capabilities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the suppliers meet the company's business needs.

    Partnering with local business units/functions to establish a pro-active and agreed supply chain solutions to deliver increased value to Visa and our Clients, go-to-market efficiency and reduced risk to meet business strategy.

    The role requires significant external interaction with existing and yet to be identified suppliers.

    The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company secures the best suppliers for its needs.

    This position requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management.
    Works in close collaboration with local business units to develop and execute local strategic sourcing requirements by AUNZSP functions.

    Needs operational interactions/collaborations with global, category and regional sourcing teams, business managers, financial planning, controllership, operations, legal, compliance and risk teams.

    Able to analyze and interpret data (spend, budget, supplier mix) to identify and develop regional and category pipeline opportunities, agree activities and savings targets with budget holders and finance managers.

    Delivers, tracks and reports on an ongoing basis supplier performance.
    In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring optimum supplier performance against agreed deliverables
    Identify potential suppliers and conduct initial screenings.
    Build relationships with internal and external business partners (current and prospective),
    Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
    Contract terms for price and supply including SLA and implements solutions into the Visa operational environment, ensuring that Visa enhances its value with these activities
    Manage key supplier relationships and performance.
    Manages supplier engagements across local business functions and spend categories.
    Establishes ongoing contract and supplier relationship programmes to track and measure performance,
    Collaborates across internal business functions to identify sourcing needs.
    Identify improvement areas, and provide 360 visibility over contract term.

    Consults with designated business unit to understand procurement risk, defines project objectives, initiates and tracks due diligence on designated online tools.

    Evaluates services, delivery, execution methods and other necessary details, engaging with relevant risk stakeholders through the contracting process to minimise Visa's risk exposure.

    Understands and addresses the challenges of strategic procurement such as regulatory practices/government requirements, cross-cultural business practices, economic and political risk factors, language and communication.

    Evaluates and minimize risks associated with global transactions such as currency exchange rate fluctuations, duties, taxes, payment terms, lead time and country-specific market dynamics.

    Serves as local expert to provide day to day management and accuracy of contracts repository, efficiency of P2 P workflow and processes, and timely risk due diligence.

    Works in collaboration with operations, tracking purchase requests whilst verifying compliance with relevant policies.
    Meets and exceeds targeted key performance indicators (savings budget, contract quality, process improvements including P2 P efficiency, etc).
    Monitor market trends and apply them to sourcing strategies.
    Performs business analysis around benchmarking, supplier performance and demonstrates tangible saving improvements and value accretive solutions to the business.
    This is a hybrid position.
    Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.

    Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


    • Bachelors/Degree or equivalent experience, typically requires greater than 12 years of progressively responsible Procurement/Purchasing experience within a fast-paced environment, spanning the areas of strategic sourcing, category management, commercial management, contract management or procurement management.
    • Proven experience in contract negotiations and drafting required.
    • Knowledge of marketing agency management and sales is an advantage.
    • Proven ability to execute independently and operate successfully within a matrix/team structure.
    • Ability to interact effectively with external partners including suppliers and clients
    • Solid experience developing project pipelines and negotiating commercial terms
