About the role Our client is looking for a Head of Department - Endocrinology.
This is a brand new role in their main Sydney laboratory.
The successful candidate will oversight the operations for the 5 endocrinology laboratories across the country.

The main responsibilities for the role will be: Delivery of their NK cell testing service from their main lab and continued development of this testing.

Team management of the NSW lab staff and 3 other lab supervisors across Australia (6 direct reports).
Ensuring the labs are running efficiently and effectively to standards.
Engagement with our overseeing supervisors pathologists.
Reporting of Key performance metrics (i.e.
turnaround time) and management of these.
Travel twice a year maximum to each lab - especially for NATA visit/accreditation.
Managing service agreement, equipment maintenance.
About the candidate Minimum of a 2 years experience as a laboratory manager.
in a clinical or research set-up Good experience on NK cell testing.
Experience in Immunology and Biochemistry will be ideal.
Flow cytometry will be a plus.
Display a high level of communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.
