    A federal government department is seeking to enhance its ICT cybersecurity capabilities in response to an increasing portfolio of cyber engagement activities.     The Opportunity

    The Role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive security risk assessments, providing system design guidance to ensure compliance with industry standards, and effectively communicating cybersecurity concerns and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Perform security risk assessments for Azure Cloud, Legacy ICT systems, and applications
    • Advise on application and system designs in compliance with PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight standards
    • Facilitate discussions on cybersecurity issues, system risks, and recommendations with stakeholders
    • Present risk assessments and findings to senior executives, influencing strategic decisions
    • Identify opportunities to improve the department's security posture

    The Ideal Person

    You have a strong background in cybersecurity, particularly those experienced in governance, risk, and compliance.

    You have demonstrated experience in security risk assessments, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to present complex information to executive-level audiences.

    • Minimum of four years' experience in cybersecurity roles focused on governance, risk assessments, and compliance
    • Expertise in PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight guidelines
    • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
    • Ability to manage high workloads and troubleshoot complex issues independently
    • Known for sound judgement and delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure

    Salary / Rate

    $110/hr – $135/hr including superannuation
